Blue Magic claims first spot in championship game

The battle between two undefeated squads ended with Team Blue Magic topping Team Rumph Center 56-47 to advance to Monday night’s championship game. Despite the loss, Rumph Center will play tomorrow with a spot in the championship game on the line.

Rumph Center led by one at the end of the first quarter, but after posting just seven points in the second frame, the team entered the half trailing 27-21. Blue Magic went to the fourth quarter up by six, but Rumph Center went on a 7-0 run to start the final frame.

The fourth quarter was back and forth for the most part, but in the closing few minutes, Blue Magic pulled away to improve to 3-0.

Temple alum Scootie Randall won Player of the Game, putting up 10 points and four rebounds. Brandon Austin (12 points) and Novar Gadson (10) also scored in double figures for Blue Magic. Mo Watson had a game-high 19 points for Rumph Center.
