Rex 6 picks up a win at the end of night one

The final game from day one at the Rumph Classic tipped off at around 10:40 and it looked like both of these teams were ready for bed when the second half rolled around.

Rex 6 and Competitive Training Co. traded buckets furiously in the first half and it seemed like the game was going to come down to whoever could make the final run.  Instead the second half was chock full of fast breaks and shooters left wide open. Quade Green and Scoop Jardine took advantage of that, scoring 17 points each and leading their team to a 73-68 victory.

Rex 6 jumped out to an early lead in the second half and never relinquished it. CTC drilled a couple big threes on consecutive possessions late in the game, but both times Rex 6 responded with lengthy possessions ending in easy points in the paint.

Rex 6 will take on Blue Magic tomorrow in the winners’ bracket.
