Team Rex 6 wins the battle of the unbeatens

Without a doubt the most intense game of the tournament to this point.  Momentum swings, poster jams and a squandered opportunity in the closing minutes for Team Rumph Center.

Team Rex 6 has earned a spot in the championship game, narrowly beating Rumph Center by a score of 70-66.  The two unbeaten teams went at each other all game, with the turning point coming in the form of a Nazeer Bostick poster.  Bostick, who had been chirping with a fan moments before, unleashed a monster jam early in the second half propelling a run. While Bostick got the fans off their feet, it was Wali Hepburn who led the way for Rex 6, finishing the game with 26 points to go along with 4 rebounds.

Rex 6 held their lead until the end but Rumph Center threatened all the way to the end.  The Givens brothers were huge down the stretch, combining for 37 points in the comeback effort.  Down 68-63 in the final minute, Rumph Center rushed down the court to put up a three. Samme Givens stepped back, paused because he anticipated a whistle for traveling, then rose up and drained the shot, making it a 2-point game.

Rex 6 missed their free throws down the stretch, opening the door for Rumph Center.  Instead of going for the tie, Rumph Center opted for the quick two.  Shannon Givens got two opportunities amongst the trees, but both shots rimmed out. Rex 6 moves onto the championship, while Rumph Center will play the winner of Chuck Ellis Workouts vs PF Workouts.
