The final game of opening night saw Rumph Center erase a 15-point halftime deficit to top Arete Sports, 71-69.

Arete Sports got out to a 20-17 lead at the end of the first quarter and saw that balloon to 48-33 at the half. The first 20 minutes was a total team effort by both squads as nine different players on each team scored.
In the third quarter, Rumph Center outscored Arete Sports by five, and in the final frame Rumph Center dominated, winning the quarter by 12 to come away with the victory.
Mo Watson of Rumph Center took home the game’s MVP, scoring 12 points and having a big second half to lead the comeback. Watson graduated from Boys’ Latin and played college ball at Boston University and Creighton. Chris Lyons joined him as the other Rumph Center player in double figures, scoring 13 points.
Ant C of Arete Sports scored a game-high 17 points, and Justin Jaworski, who went to Lafayette and played last season in the G League with the Oklahoma City Blue, had 15 points.
